General Foreman Pipe

The General Foreman will oversee shop and field supervisor and coordinate the activities of pipefitters, welders, and helpers. Responsibilities include managing the fabrication shop, overseeing sketchers, and maintaining field welding operations. This role also involves callouts for overtime maintenance to support plant operations and ensure continuous functionality.

Qualification Highlights

• Must have 5+ years working as an Industrial Pipefitter
• Must have 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Must be proficient in managing crew, time, and costs.
• Must have good leadership and communication skills.
• Must have experience on a new construction project. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop work schedules based on construction plans.
• Oversee shop supervisor and Field supervisor 
• Oversee and help train pipefitters, welders, and helpers.
• Manage the fabrication shop and oversee sketchers and field welding.
• Coordinate with other foremen and supervisors to ensure seamless workflow.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols.
• Manage materials and equipment.
• Prepare progress reports and track time and equipment usage.
• Handle callouts for overtime maintenance to support plant operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a pipefitter foreman or in a similar supervisory role
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and SAP 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Former Zachry Employee.
• Basic Computer efficiency
• Formal/technical education.

 

Physical Requirements

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. 
• Will talk and hear to communicate. 
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull:  objects, materials, controls and tools. 
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. 
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements. 
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
