I. Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting WMRE’s Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Regulatory Compliance department to ensure that all regulatory obligations are met and certifications are maintained. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with multiple departments across WMRE to ensure all relevant data and input is provided in a timely fashion. There will often be competing priorities and effective task management is an important skill; attention to detail and a willingness to learn the industry are also essential traits.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties:
- Coordinate with a large number of landfills to facilitate the creation of biogas tokens in support of the RNG process.
- Develop process documentation for biogas token creation. This is a key responsibility.
- Support EPA registration of landfills associated with new RNG developments.
- Perform quality control and submit data to various program portals.
- Collaborate with peers to support the RIN separation process via CNG/LNG dispensing stations.
- Coordinate with regional stakeholders and WMRE staff in discussions around potential projects related to compliance tasks.
- Pull data and reports from various operational and financial databases; providing the information in the format required by various regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate the supply of affidavits, data, and documentation to stakeholders to implement Quality Assurance Program (QAP) activities.
- Implement Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Verification and Validation including fuel pathway data requests, quarterly fuel transactions, and verifier requests.
- Update Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), LCFS, Canadian Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), and International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) program registrations as necessary, e.g. changes at RNG plants and addition of new fueling stations. Coordinate updates with business and compliance stakeholders.
- Refine RNG data collection and management processes to prevent errors and improve efficiency. Enhance documentation processes and training library. Conduct oversight and training on regulatory programs and compliance managed by WMRE.
- Write and manage Purchase Orders (POs), support quarterly reconciliations, and payment communications with various third parties.
- Assist compliance management team with ad hoc requests to support development, engineering, and construction of various projects.
- Support the broader WMRE organization via ad hoc requests.

- A. Education and Experience
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or 4 years military service, or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience (in addition to education requirement). Relevant collegiate internships and relatable military service are considered as experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Regulatory experience in the energy industry.
- General understanding of RNG processes; experience with LCFS and RFS programs.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Excel Macros, etc.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
