We are seeking a Groundwater Technician (Pump Technician) 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

I. Job Summary
Daily monitors landfill pump operations and performs pump maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure leachate compliance levels are met for the landfill site.    

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. 

  • Monitors, maintains, and repairs air and electric driven pumps and associated controls, control panels, valves, regulators or other controls used to manually or remotely to regulate pump operations in landfill sumps and wells.
  • Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter, gauge, and fluid level readings to determine proper pump operation and compliance conditions.
  • Starts and stops pumps, compressors, and generators to control flow of landfill leachate to the on-site biological treatment plant.
  • Maintains log of operations, repairs and maintenance and records meter and gauge readings.
  • Must be able to work outdoors to perform these duties during the extreme summer and winter temperatures

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D (accredited).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements\

  • None required.

C. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Must have good knowledge and working experience with various hand and power tools.
  • Must have a good maintenance and repair aptitude including strong problem-solving skills related to mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. 
  • Must be available for OT including Callouts when needed.
  • Must be able to work in an efficient manner and be self-motivated.
  • Must be responsible and dependable.

D. Other Knowledge, Skill or Abilities a Plus 

  • Experienced with operating a skid loader, forklift and telehandler (other equipment may also be used).
  • Having good communication skills, physical energy, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems.

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S / Canada is $31.00/hr. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
