EWT Engineering sit within the Engineering capability under Enterprise Wide Technology, Platform Engineering and Operations. The team provide technology solutions to the firm, covering Architecture, Cloud Engineering and the Desktop.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and run cloud infrastructure and software services primarily in Azure
- Evolving Azure Virtual Desktop as a technology and service
- Manage and mentor third party engineers
- Automate Cloud technologies
- Prioritise workload based on incident severity, chair meetings to drive incident resolution and take ownership of incident until resolved
- Building technology networks across Engineering, the organisation and third parties
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to become a trusted partner
- Develop tools and services useful in DevOps environments such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment/configuration, continuous integration/build servers and Cloud resource creation scripts
- Support your wider Infrastructure community by assisting other teams, sharing knowledge, debugging problems, contributing code to central projects and any other ad hoc requests
- Lead by example by living by Our Values and embracing our culture
The Person
- Proven experience managing suppliers and third parties and being responsible for delivering projects
- Ability to switch between technical discussion with team members and non-technical to stakeholders
- Proven experience with Microsoft technologies
- Hands on experience with building Microsoft Cloud solutions
- Proven experience in software development or scripting languages such as PowerShell/JSON/Terraform
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelining skills using Octopus/TeamCity/Jenkins/Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Product focussed, build once and reuse
- Build it run it, take ownership of your code and infrastructure
- Proven experience working in an agile environment
- Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Be a technological cloud advocate to a wider audience inside and outside of the business
- Bring fresh ideas to the team and wider firm be it new software or containerisation of existing infrastructure and projects
