Software Engineering Associate (CI/CD; DevOps)

The Software Engineering Associate (CI/CD; DevOps) will be part of a core engineering team leading new product developments for VW Group. They will design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines that streamline software delivery across the development lifecycle. They will work closely with developers and platform teams to ensure reliable, automated, and scalable delivery of software to production.

Role Responsibilities:

Integration – (80%)

·        Be the software integrator for the Experience Management Module (XMM) module

·        Ramp up the integration software imaging for the XMM

·        Integrate the Audi AG images and applications (based on the reference images/platform) for RVT

·        Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines

·        Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure consistent and reproducible builds

·        Maintain documentation for CI/CD practices and environments

·        Work with internal customers to understand and specify application requirements and deliverables

 

Operational Management - (20%)

·        Be the interface between VWAG Engineering teams and Development partners for integration topics.

·        Participate in VWAG Engineering and Development partner meetings, workshops and decision rounds related to integration topics. Bring escalation topics to VWAG management for timely attention and propose technical solutions.

 

Specialized Skills

Required

·        Excellent strategically thinking and communication skills.

·        Familiar with software integration techniques and solving merging conflicts.

·        Familiar with CI/CD tooling (Gradle, ZUUL, Git/Gerrit, Gitlab, Jenkins..)

·        Experience with DevOps.

·        Familiar with software ticket systems (JIRA, Github..)

·        Understands and proficient in Agile processes (SCRUM, SAFE…)

·        Familiar with Android test suites and tooling (CTS, STS,VTS…)

·        Understanding of core Computer Science algorithms and data structures.

·        Familiar with NATS implementation on cloud systems such as AWS.

·        Familiar with backend integration and architectures

·        Knowledge of complex modern automotive software and architecture

·        Knowledge of embedded software design.

·        Knowledge of real time operating systems (Linux with realtime extensions)

·        Programming expertise with LINUX(inc. Yokto Project)/Android

 

Desired

·        Experience in Infotainment and Driver Assistance Systems.

·        Rapid SW environment for prototyping and validation.

·        Knowledge of connected vehicle infotainment and communication systems.

·        Basic proficiency in German language

·        Understanding of typical vehicle EE architectures and automotive development processes.

Qualifications

 

Years of Required Experience

·        1-3 years of education and/or experience in design, development and prototyping of software products with features like: Navigation, Speech Recognition, Connected Car and/or similar technology.

·        Experience in middleware, networking, or communication systems in embedded environments (ideally with Automotive OEM/Tier 1 or mobile device manufacturer) preferred

 

Education Requirements:

Required

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, EE, ME, Engineering or equivalent

Desired

·        Master’s Degree in Computer Science, EE, ME, Engineering or equivalent

 

Work Flexibility:

·        Accommodation for working time zone differences between international locations as needed

·        Travel is estimated to be 10%.

·        Role requires flexibility in daily schedule, including early morning meetings with Europe, afternoons/evenings for the US West Coast or Asia

·        Travel is expected regularly to local development teams and partners <20miles from work location

 

In Silicon Valley, the salary range for this role will be $97,500 - $120,000, depending on education and years of relevant experience. Salary is determined by geographical location and adjusted accordingly. Other benefits for this position include:
