Act as point-of-contact for trade operations covering the NORAM region and partner with regional peers to support import and export compliance involving a broad range of cross goods border movement
Drive NORAM compliance reviews, audits and manage the post-entry review program
Review and approve documentation for international shipments and general day-to-day import/export activities – including, but not limited to Power of Attorneys, export license applications, including daily interaction with the company’s customs brokers, freight forwarders and third-party logistics, end user statements and other documentation needed to facilitate shipments and in accordance with relevant laws and corporate policy
Monitor trade compliance inquiries by governmental enforcement agencies for resolution and root cause analysis
Develop and implement corrective actions for any compliance gaps
Manage the ECCN and HTS-US and CA classification efforts within Trade Compliance Operations for products and technologies in the region
including tangibles and intangibles in partnership with other regional leads across EMEA, LATAM, APAC regions
Manage the collection of information and preparation of certain global trade licenses and declarations, including “deemed export” licenses for certain employees to access controlled technology, track U.S. and non-US license/authorization expirations, and renew/maintain authorizations in partnership with Counsel
Manage and support Counsel with compliance and reporting obligations associated with certain US and non-US licenses/authorizations
Support counsel to manage regulatory changes, run enterprise wide risk assessments based on regulatory updates to export controls, and assess impacts
In partnership with Counsel, develop and deliver trade compliance trainings for and to new hires, project teams, and management
Identify the need, assist with the design, and track the success of regional automation initiatives in alignment with the global trade compliance strategy
Drive efficiencies in operations and spearhead the development of the NORAM Trade Compliance Program into the existing Americas Strategy framework, support business teams assess implementation of efficiency seeking initiativies eg. special provisions, customs regimes, etc
Assist with a number of global trade compliance programs and initiatives including supporting global new product introduction efforts, country expansion strategies and development of cross-functional relationships

8+ years of experience in global trade compliance, with demonstrated knowledge of US jurisdiction requirements and global trade requirements in general
Capacity to work with minimal supervision and highly collaboratively with peers in fast paced, cross-functional, and global environment
Demonstrated experience supporting global trade activities and compliance programs involving complex and far-reaching logistics operations
Experience at an international trade regulatory authority
Experience managing export classification programs
Knowledge and experience with US Export Control regulations (under the Export Administration Regulations for hardware, software and sanctions compliance) and Customs Regulations
Degree in business, law, economics, finance or related discipline
Postgraduate degree in business, law, economics, finance or related disciplines
Experience using Canada customs systems (CARM), as well as interacting with customs/international trade authorities if needed
Customs broker license
Experience using US customs systems (SNAP-R and ACE), as well as interacting with customs/international trade authorities if needed
