A little more about your role…
This is a senior role in the business, responsible for project delivery, technical excellence of our teams and growing client relationships.
The role will be fast paced and agile, with responsibility for the delivery of large complex projects or frameworks from our extensive highways portfolio. You will have client facing responsibilities, working with existing clients or building new relationships to grow our market share from our existing routes to market.
You will be client facing therefore you will need to be able to demonstrate a track record of delivery of schemes in either the local or national transport arena.
- Taking responsibility for the management and leadership of project teams to deliver project scope.
- Visible leadership of health safety and wellbeing.
- Managing project risk and opportunity to ensure effective coordination of multi-disciplinary working.
- Managing resources effectively and efficiently to meet fluctuating workloads.
- Working with Clients and design teams to deliver compliant designs on time and within budget meeting CDM, QA and technical review requirements.
- Leading the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme; supporting those less experienced by completing technical reviews, mentoring and
providing advice. - Participating in tender bids and business development opportunities as they arise.
- Developing relationships with other WSP teams to utilise additional resources required.
- Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects.
- In addition to core responsibilities, you will be responsible for setting the leadership and management tone in the business unit, ensuring a fair, supportive and passionate culture.
- Understanding of the business’s operations in relation to large frameworks; ability to influence the leadership and management of major framework programmes of work including working capital, resource management, margin monitoring and client relations.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Experience of project management and technical delivery lead of highly complex highway schemes, with detailed experience of local and national highways procedures being essential.
- Proven knowledge in design, maintenance and supervision of highways related projects. This should include new build, maintenance and assessment of roads infrastructure.
- Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to Highway projects.
