Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS), or Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS).
  • Experience working with data and screening systems like FircoSoft, LexisNexis, Factiva and World-Check.
  • Experience in a technology or payments-focused company.
  • Understanding of global sanctions regulations and lists such as OFAC, EU and UN.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

In this role, you will be a part of the newly formed Risk, Compliance and Integrity organization (RCI) bringing together compliance, assurance, risk and governance functions across Google. As Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies evolve and regulatory demands increase, you will help the company meet compliance needs and support innovation. You will drive scalable, data-driven, policy based compliance programs and contribute to risk based prioritization and constructive regulator engagement.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $88,000-$126,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Review and process system-generated sanctions alerts, including name and transactions screening to identify and assess potential matches.
  • Investigate potential sanction matches by gathering information from internal and external sources to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Document investigation steps and findings in a clear, concise and auditable manner.
  • Escalate potentially high-risk cases to executive analysts or management for further review and guidance.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of sanctions screening.
