Description
Fabricate and weld metal hoses from 1/4" to 12" in diameter of various lengths with infinite end fitting variations. Must determine correct hose and fittings, their locations, cutoffs and prepare hose according to work orders/customer specifications by performing the following duties.
- Select proper hose and fittings.
- Ability to read or learn to interpret drawings.
- Test and tag hoses and fill out test reports in Microsoft Word.
- Prepare end fittings by grinding, cutting, or using a lathe
- Clean and degrease fittings using wire wheels, grinder, or polishers.
- Test and tag hoses and fill out test reports in Microsoft Word.
- Buff or paint assemblies according to specifications.
- Print labels and/or stamp metal tags.
- Put away stock.
- Prioritize workloads.
- Maintain shop schedule.
- Use variable crimper.
- Operates forklifts, scissor lift, pallet jack, chop saw, band saw, cut off tools, grinders and other basic hand tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to understand how to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to become forklift certified. Current driver’s license.
- High mechanical aptitude required.
- Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months or of more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some overtime is required. Must have the ability to be on call for emergency work and customer breakdowns. Must be flexible to work in other areas of the shop as needed.
