Requirements

 

What You’ll Do

As a Manual Machinist, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, responsible for producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances (+/- 0.005). You’ll collaborate with field machinists, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute machining projects that meet exacting standards.

  

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Operating manual machines including knee mills, engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, and horizontal mills
  • Reading blueprints and mechanical drawings to lay out and machine parts
  • Selecting tooling, setting up machines, and performing progressive machining operations
  • Inspecting parts for dimensional accuracy and finish quality
  • Providing feedback to improve machining processes and tooling
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area

  

What You Bring


We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in manual machining and a passion for precision.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or journeyman certification preferred
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience with manual machining and grinding
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T
  • Experience with Bridgeport mills, and engine lathes
  • Familiarity with carbide tooling, feeds & speeds, and machining ferrous/non-ferrous materials
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and teamwork skills

  

Work Environment & Physical Demands


This role involves working in a dynamic shop environment and occasionally at customer sites. You’ll be expected to:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hand tools and power tools
  • Climb, kneel, and crouch as needed
  • Wear appropriate PPE and pass respirator fit testing
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)

Other Requirements

  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Forklift and overhead crane training provided upon hire
  • Ability to use mobile apps for time tracking and reporting
