Head of Sales & Marketing (w/m/d)

Neumann Kaffee Gruppe

Office

Coffee Plaza, Germany

Full Time

We are Neumann Kaffee Gruppe. And we love coffee.

For us at Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG), everything revolves around coffee. As a globally active green coffee service group, our more than 3,200 employees in over 26 countries work with dedication for and with green coffee, which is always the focus of our services along the entire coffee supply chain. Our fields of work are just as diverse as our employees and we are proud to live this diversity.

As individual and special as coffee is, it is also a globally traded commodity. Unlike other large trading houses, we at Bernhard Rothfos only trade coffee - from low grade to high end and as green or instant coffee. This means that hardly anyone knows coffee as well as we do. We combine decades of experience and advanced know-how about the product as well as the international coffee market. Today, we see ourselves as a trading house that offers services far beyond commercial processing - just as our customers want.

Role Overview:

As Head of Sales & Marketing (w/m/d), you are the commercial voice and face of Bernhard Rothfos GmbH, one of Europe’s most established and globally connected green coffee trading houses within Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG).

Operating at the intersection of origin and destination, Bernhard Rothfos has a particularly strong footprint in Germany, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, with deep-rooted relationships across the entire coffee value chain.

In this senior leadership role, you shape our go-to-market strategy, lead our customer engagement model and translate the depth of our sourcing capabilities into value-added commercial offerings for a wide range of roasters - from global multinationals to fast-growing regional brands. You act as a strategic connector between origin companies within the NKG network and our European customers, helping both sides to align in quality, communication and commercial execution.

You report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Head of Arabica, Head of Robusta, your Sales Team and the wider leadership team across trading, logistics, quality and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse sales team covering various customer segments and coffee categories.
  • Embed structured account management, with a focus on partnership value, profitability, and strategic development.
  • Actively collaborate with the Arabica and Robusta leads to align sourcing plans with sales priorities and market opportunities.

Customer Experience & Key Account Engagement

  • Serve as a relationship anchor for major clients, translating their needs into tailored sourcing and service solutions.
  • Position Bernhard Rothfos as a trusted and agile partner, capable of delivering both product excellence and commercial reliability.
  • Foster cross-functional teamwork between sales, trading, logistics, and quality to create a seamless customer experience.
  • Promote deeper customer intimacy through regular visits, joint origin trips, and collaborative value-creation initiatives/fostering partnerships.

Marketing, Brand & Communication

  • Shape and strengthen the Bernhard Rothfos brand, ensuring alignment with the global identity and values of NKG.
  • Lead the development of compelling marketing tools and digital campaigns that reflect the depth of our sourcing and the needs of our clients.
  • Build bridges between origin stories and destination markets, helping NKG sister companies at origin position their coffees effectively in Europe.
  • Work with Arabica and Robusta teams to develop market-facing product narratives, especially around EUDR, traceability, certification, and sustainability.

Collaboration within the NKG Network

  • Act as a commercial interface between Bernhard Rothfos and origin-based NKG companies, helping translate market intelligence, branding opportunities, and product positioning needs.
  • Proactively support origin entities by identifying market access opportunities in Europe.
  • Drive joint customer development initiatives across NKG, leveraging group scale, cross-entity relationships, and global sourcing strength.
  • Contribute to NKG-wide customer experience efforts, reinforcing our identity as a global coffee group.
