Description

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Water/Wastewater Technician/Designer to support planning and design efforts for vital water and wastewater projects across Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers to help deliver high-impact infrastructure that protects public health and the environment.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and drafting of water and wastewater systems including pipelines, pump stations, storage tanks, and treatment facilities
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software
- Support hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and sewer collection systems
- Conduct site visits and field work to collect data, support construction administration, and verify existing conditions
- Perform quantity take-offs, assist in the preparation of cost estimates, and support bid documents
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, CAD technicians, and other team members to ensure design quality and compliance with project goals
- Support regulatory permitting, documentation, and technical report development
- Help maintain project records and support quality control/quality assurance efforts
- Stay current with design standards and regulatory requirements related to water and wastewater systems
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in civil/site design, preferably with water/wastewater projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or SWMM is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and eagerness to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a collaborative team environment
