Description
Hapi is a data streaming, integration, and enrichment platform with robust transactional APIs designed and developed by Data Travel, LLC. to solve the hotel industry’s data management challenges.This role is a natural evolution of Hapi’s maturation and is critical to support Hapi’s ongoing growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role are as follows:IT Strategy:
- Develop and implement a strategy for maintaining Hapi’s Information Technology such as our Identity Management, Email, Document Management, and Communications systems
- Develop and implement a strategy for maintaining hardware issued to employees to ensure that all necessary controls are in place
IT Budget:
- Prepare and manage an IT budget, including annual and multi-year plans
- Rationalize current IT Spend and provide recommendations for optimization
IT Regulations & Compliance:
- Define, implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure adherence to compliance standards, especially with regard to PCI, SOC2 and GDPR
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks
- Oversee internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Monitor changes in regulations and update compliance policies accordingly
- Conduct or facilitate training programs to educate employees about compliance requirements and data security best practices
- Promote a culture of compliance and data protection within the organization
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of compliance activities, audits, and certifications
IT Help Desk:
- Run and evolve internal IT helpdesk
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management
Requirements
1. Experience & Background- Proven experience (3+ years) in an IT leadership, IT operations, or IT compliance role within a growing technology company.
- Hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure, including identity management systems, email, document management, and communication platforms.
- Strong understanding of internal IT support/helpdesk functions and stakeholder communication.
- Deep understanding of IT systems, hardware lifecycle management, and endpoint security.
- Experience with IT budgeting, cost rationalization, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations, especially PCI, SOC2, and GDPR.
- Experience designing and implementing compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, and leading internal audits.
- Ability to monitor regulatory updates and translate them into actionable internal policies.
- Experience leading or supporting SOC2 and GDPR audit processes is a strong plus.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to promote a culture of security and compliance across the organization.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
