Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of multiple international payroll(s) through audits, error resolution, and reconciliation of pay data to source data. This role provides timely and accurate financial information while engaging in the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing. This position plays a critical role in our organization by ensuring the smooth, timely, and error-free processing of payroll.

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversees processing of biweekly and semi-month payrolls, including earnings, deductions, garnishments and taxes for exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with company policy, federal, state and local laws
- Serves as the subject matter expert for payroll processing ensuring a high level of accuracy and compliance
- Works with Human Resources to gather and process supporting documentation for employee changes impacting payroll
- Performs monthly reconciliations of payroll items to general ledger and prepare payroll related journal entries and work papers for the monthly and annual close, audit, and 941s
- Reconciles periodic tax filings and earnings records, including 941s, W-2s, etc., and prepare payroll related schedules for tax returns
- Works with federal, state and local agencies to ensure the ACLU is registered and in compliance with regulations. Serve as primary contact for correspondence
- Performs routine internal audits to ensure data integrity in both Deltek and UKG
- Assists in competition of 401k audits, Nondiscrimination testing and annual true ups
- Creates and maintains documentation of payroll procedures, processes and timelines. Maintain an organized filing system of payroll related records
- Completes ad hoc projects as assigned by Finance Leadership Team
- Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records in both Deltek and UKG; including checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records, entering data into the payroll system, posting changes in pay and tax status, and miscellaneous changes
- Performs basic analysis & research related to payroll processing including payroll report balancing and auditing manual changes, investigating variances and determining action to be taken on variances
- Processes prior period adjustments, inclusive of manual checks, stop payments, and reversals
- Maintain Time System(s) for all Rules and Regulations and monitor flow of timekeeping information to payroll
- Prepares wires and fund Payroll, 401(k), HSA and FSA
- Processes invoice payments for benefit carriers (ie AFLAC, Unum)

- Works with other teams across Shared Services, to ensure business goals and objectives are achieved
- Provides support to technical teams to meet business development goals and revenue generation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with automated multi-corporation, multi-state, payroll processing with in-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles plus wage and hour laws.
- Experience working with UKG Pro is required
- Strong verbal and written client services skills
- Must possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines
At DeSimone, we believe in transparency when it comes to salary and hourly rates for our job postings. Our pay range represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that we think, in good faith, we might be willing to pay, for the posted job in the specified location(s).
This position is classified as salaried, exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be $65,000 - $75,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
For this particular position, we expect to hire near the middle of the range. To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with an Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience working with automated multi-corporation, multi-state, payroll processing with in-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles plus wage and hour laws.
We understand that there may be rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position. In these cases, we may consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
