Role Overview 

We’re looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Ads Technology team. You’ll design and build machine learning models and systems that power our advertising platform, helping vendors promote their products effectively on Coupang.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll work on large-scale problems like real-time targeting, bidding systems, and search-based advertising. You’ll help shape the future of our ad quality stack and contribute to building a full ad exchange, DSP, and SSP.

What You Will do 

• Build and deploy machine learning models to improve ad targeting, relevance, ranking and user engagement
• Develop optimization algorithms for automated bidding, query expansion, and other ad platform feature
• Create tools and models that help advertisers identify opportunities and improve ROI 
• Design scalable ML infrastructure and systems for internet-scale applications
• Collaborate with product and sales teams to launch new ad  features 

Basic Qualifications 

• 2 years of industry experience in software engineering and machine learning
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, science or a related field
• Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving and coding skills

 Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with cloud platforms, like AWS 
• Background in advertising systems, search advertising or ad marketplaces
• Startup experience or ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
• Self -starter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems
• Proven track record of ownership delivering results
• Comfortable working in diverse, cross-functional

Pay & Benefits   

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.  

The base pay for this position ranges from $108,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $232,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
