REPORTS TO: Athletic Director
SCHEDULE: 11 months, 40 hours per week including some Saturday's, schedule may vary based on the needs of the Academy and schedule of games and practices for the associated sports team.

Position Purpose
This position involves managing all aspects of athletic equipment operations at PEA while also contributing to the school’s sports teams as a sports team coach.
Job Responsibilities
- Align all activities and decisions with the overall goals and objectives of the Athletic Director.
- Coordinate the purchase, control, receiving, marking, tracking, repair, sizing, reconditioning, replenishment, and laundering of all athletic equipment and uniforms.
- Ensure that all equipment complies with the latest safety standards, particularly protective gear.
- Stay informed on rule changes related to athletic equipment and ensure compliance across all sports.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of equipment distribution and tracking.
- Compile competitive bids for equipment purchases and manage the budget for equipment and uniforms, including submitting Capital Budget Requests.
- Manage the issuance of equipment to teams for practices and games. Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the Athletic Program and other departments (custodial, security, grounds, accounting) regarding equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
- Assist venue managers with purchasing, delivery, and assembly of equipment for large-scale program needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff, vendors, parents, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Coaching Responsibilities:
- Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of student-athletes by providing a safe, supportive, and motivational environment.
- Help manage the day-to-day administrative responsibilities of the team, including training and preparation for competitions, events, and tours.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model, exemplifying ethical behavior, sportsmanship, and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Teach and demonstrate sports techniques, rules, and strategies to athletes, focusing on their physical and technical development.
- Adjust coaching strategies based on individual athlete strengths and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate athletes’ skills, review performance, and offer guidance to help athletes reach their full potential.
- Prepare and distribute communications for athletes and their parents regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
- Support prospective student athletes interested in attending PEA and support current students with an interest in competing in college.

Direct: Assistant Equipment Manager. Indirect: Laundry Person, Student workers in the Stockroom
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some college experience helpful.
- Holds and maintains current Athletic Equipment Managers Association Certification.
Experience
- Supervisory/ managerial experience with personnel required.
- Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience (5 years preferred) at a varsity, collegiate, or club sport.
- Experience in an institutional or campus setting.
- Experience working with a broad range of athletic uniforms and equipment, including laundering and mending, preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work and will require the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, lift and push heavy objects as well as stoop, squat, bend, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 75lbs without assistance.
Additional Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
- Clean Driving record (reviewed annually).
