Position Details:
- Title: Network Administrator
- Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, M-F, with some flexibility. *This position is ONSITE in an office setting, with potential for 2 days remote after 90 days*
- Ideal Candidates: The ideal candidate will 2-10 years of hands-on IT support experience - with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Position Overview:
This Network & Security Support Administrator role offers a unique opportunity for an IT support professional to transition into a more specialized area of IT. This position is ideal for an IT professional with 2-10 years of hands-on IT support experience, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. You'll be working with critical network and security technologies, including Fortinet firewalls, Huntress endpoint detection and response, Windows Defender, and Barracuda security products. This is a great chance to leverage your existing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to build a strong foundation in network and security practices. You will spend the majority of your time managing and enhancing our network and security infrastructure, with a portion of your time dedicated to resolving escalated user issues.
Job Functions:
- Network & Security (70%):
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls and network security devices, ensuring optimal protection and performance.
- Monitor and manage endpoint security using Huntress and Windows Defender. Investigate security alerts, perform threat analysis, and implement remediation strategies.
- Administer Barracuda email security solutions, including spam filtering, phishing protection, and email encryption.
- Monitor security logs and alerts from various security tools. Assist in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation activities, ensuring systems are patched and secure.
- Implement and manage patch management systems to ensure timely security updates for network devices and endpoints.
- Ensure secure remote access solutions and assist in troubleshooting remote access issues.
- Collaborate with the IT team and communicate technical information clearly, with a focus on security awareness and best practices.
- Assist with security audits and research new technologies.
- Escalated User Support (30%):
- Provide advanced technical support for complex hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and application problems.
- Document support activities and create knowledge base articles.
Qualifications:
- 2-10 years of hands-on IT support experience, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Fundamental understanding of networking and security concepts.
- Experience with patch management and a focus on security patching.
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to remote sites when required.
- Availability to be on-call to provide support services during off-hours as needed (details provided upon interview).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls or other network security devices.
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools like Huntress or similar.
- Experience with email security solutions like Barracuda or similar.
- Knowledge of Windows Defender and other Microsoft security tools.
- Understanding of vulnerability management and security patching.
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for security automation.
- Experience with security event logging and SIEM solutions.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Relevant IT Certifications (especially network and security-focused) are highly encouraged.
