Gateway Co-op is hiring a full-time Estimator at our Home Centre and Building Solution store in Preeceville, Saskatchewan.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Lumber Manager, the responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• To provide excellent customer service to our members and guest being a brand ambassador for the Gateway Co-operative
• To provide accurate and timely estimates/takeoffs on projects for internal sales teams at Gateway Co-operative
• To consistently work within a 5% accuracy tolerance based on information provided
• To follow current building practices and codes in preparation of estimates
• To achieve and maintain a high level of product knowledge and products handled by all departments
• To develop a strong and positive working relationship with all internal and external customers
• To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
• Any other duties which help forward the mission, vision, and values of Gateway Co-operative

Who you are:

We are looking for a positive, approachable, and motivated individual with a drive to learn. Previous experience with estimating/construction and retail experience is preferred, however, we welcome applications with a combination of relevant experience and/or education.

Applicants will demonstrate the following:

• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong building materials and construction knowledge relating to both residential and commercial
• Requires blueprint reading and interpretation skills
• Requires knowledge of computer estimating software or similar systems
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Valid class 5 drivers license – some travel may be required
• Bondable
• Able to workdays, evenings, and weekends
