As an Engineering Team Lead (Checkout & Post-Purchase) are required to support and jump in to ensure technical innovation and excellence, which enables you to contribute technically to the team. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to scope and size projects accurately.

This position reports to an Engineering Director. 

What you'll do: 

• You are responsible for leading and building a cross-functional team of software engineers
• Your main objective is to ensure that the team can operate autonomously and take responsibility for the solution and deliverables
• You will manage the team's growth, remove barriers and help guide their development
• You are a force multiplier for your team, looking for opportunities beyond the conventional to help your team and the business succeed

This job is for you if you have: 

• Experience leading a team, with a focus on a very high-quality output and team enablement
• Experience in backend, mobile, or frontend development — our stack includes GoLang for backend services, Flutter for mobile applications, and JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend interfaces.
• Experience in developing distributed, high transactional and available systems
• In-depth knowledge of databases, data structures, and algorithms.
• Great problem-solving skills
• A passion for observability and monitoring of the services you build
• 5 years of relevant work experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a team lead position
• BSc Computer Science or equivalent is encouraged (strong work experience can fill this gap

One or more of the following will help you stand out: 

• A proven track record of architectural ownership and understanding
• Experience owning the deployment process of your services and applications in Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
• You have strong experience with Go or JavaScript/TypeScript. We’re open to candidates with a solid foundation in other languages (like Python) if you’re keen to learn GoLang
• Experience working with unit testing, test-driven development, end-to-end testing, and/or integration testing
• Ability to work effectively across teams to deliver results, with good verbal and written communication skills
