Overview:

As the Manager, Employee Relations at Dexcom Malaysia, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a high-trust, compliant, and engaging workplace culture. This position leads the Employee Relations (ER) function on-site, providing strategic counsel to business leaders, managing complex and high-risk ER cases, and proactively identifying trends that could impact employee experience or organizational health. In addition to your strategic role, you will also manage and develop the ER team, fostering a culture of excellence, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and the Malaysia leadership team to align ER practices with Dexcom’s core values and business priorities.

Where you come in:

1. Strategic ER Leadership

  • You lead the development and execution of employee relations (ER) strategies that support business growth, enhance the employee experience, and reduce organizational risk.
  • You serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership and HR Business Partners on ER matters, organizational changes, investigations, and people decisions.
  • You anticipate workforce trends and proactively recommend ER programs, policies, and training to improve engagement and retention.

2. People Management & Team Development

  • You manage, coach, and develop ER team members to ensure high performance, capability growth, and consistent delivery.
  • You establish clear goals and provide regular feedback to support development and succession planning.
  • You create a collaborative and inclusive team environment aligned with Dexcom’s leadership expectations.

3. Complex Case Management

  • You lead the resolution of escalated or high-impact cases involving misconduct, grievances, or policy violations with professionalism and discretion.
  • You ensure all cases are handled in a timely, fair, and legally compliant manner, with thorough documentation and appropriate risk mitigation.

4. Policy and Compliance Ownership

  • You own and update ER-related policies in partnership with Legal and Compliance to reflect local labor laws and global best practices.
  • You ensure policy consistency and support audit readiness across business functions.

5. Capability Building & Education

  • You design and facilitate training programs for people leaders on ER topics, including conduct, discipline, grievance handling, and respectful workplace behavior.
  • You coach managers on how to address performance, behavioral, or team concerns confidently and fairly.

6. Data-Driven Insights and Reporting

  • You lead analysis of ER trends and root causes using dashboards and case management data.
  • You present strategic insights and recommendations to senior leaders and global stakeholders to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Global Alignment

  • You represent Malaysia in regional or global ER forums and contribute local insights to shape policy and program development.
  • You partner with global HR Centers of Excellence, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, and Government to ensure alignment in practices and standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 to 5 years in employee relations leadership or managerial capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing sensitive and high-risk ER issues and investigations
  • Deep knowledge of Malaysian labor law and HR compliance practices
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
