About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Analytics consultant
In this role, you will:
- Consult, review and research moderately complex business, operational, and technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable data factors
- Perform moderately complex data analysis to support and drive strategic initiatives and business needs
- Develop a deep understanding of technical systems and business processes to extract data driven insights while identifying opportunities for engineering enhancements
- Lead or participate on large cross group projects
- Mentor less experienced staff
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, external contractors, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Leverage a solid understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Proficient in Python, SAS, SQL, R
- Understanding of AML/transaction monitoring principle
- Familiarity with AML model types (e.g., rule-based models, risk factors, thresholds)
- Awareness of model use cases (e.g., alert generation, effectiveness tracking)
- Understanding of model life cycle governance (development, validation, implementation, monitoring)
- Attention to detail to document updates with crucial items.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for formal documentation and cross-team collaboration
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development, including development and maintenance of procedures
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business, social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis
- Demonstrated experience supporting BSA/AML and sanctions monitoring systems for global multi-channeled financial institutions
- Awareness of regulatory expectations for model risk
- Intellectually curious, enjoy solving problems
- Familiarity with internal model governance expectations (e.g., documentation completeness, traceability)
Job Expectations:
- Maintain model documentation (eg., Model functional documents)
- Ensure data quality and perform regular validations
- Participate in periodic reviews and validation with stake holders.
- Support communication across technical and business teams.
- This profile is an AML model developer profile who understands AML /Transactions Monitoring model development and maintenance, more than AI/ML or reporting hence reporting profiles are not preferred
- Reporting specialists/ Business Analysts, functional analysts, financial crimes or banking operations analyst performing L1/L2/L3 maker/checker activities or alert disposition, KYC /CDD/EDD due diligence/ Fraud /Negative news alert investigators NEED NOT apply

- Draft and maintain Model design and configuration documents
- Perform Physical Data elements and Critical data elements check annually
- Extract and analyze model input/output data
- Review monthly production outputs to confirm model is running as expected (e.g., transaction/account count, logic triggers, trend)
- Perform input data quality checks (eg., missing values, unexpected source change, or data defects/scenario gaps in input data formats) to evaluate their impact on model output/alert volume
