Summary: The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager will lead and oversee our accounts receivable operations. This role is responsible for managing the AR team, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding receivables, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall cash flow objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliations.
- Manage and support AR team members, including performance evaluations, training, and workload distribution.
- Monitor aging reports and drive effective collection strategies to minimize past-due accounts.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and legal teams to resolve billing and collection issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing and payment processing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records in the ERP system.
- Prepare AR-related reports and metrics for management, including DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and cash forecasting.
- Support external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in AR operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations.
- Handle escalated inquiries from customers and internal staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and in ERP systems
- Experience in managing a team
Language Skills: Must speak English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
