Who we are looking for
As a TWD spot trader based in the onshore market, you will be responsible for managing FX risk exposures that directly impact the Taipei branch’s Sales & Trading activities. Your role centers on navigating client flows, monitoring TWD liquidity conditions, and responding to market-moving events—whether driven by central bank actions, macro developments, or regulatory shifts. Key responsibilities include identifying and assessing risk, formulating trading strategies aligned with local market regulations, and collaborating across desks and regions to ensure effective risk resolution and execution.
What you will be responsible for
- Execute TWD spot trades with precision, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Proactively manage daily positions and FX risk, adjusting strategies in response to market dynamics to meet budget targets.
- Accountable for regulatory reporting and handling external inquiries with accuracy, timeliness, clarity, and professionalism.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities to expand the TWD FX franchise, working closely with the Sales team and other departments to enhance trading performance and revenue contribution.
- Lead initiatives to automate reporting and improve workflows, enhancing trading efficiency and transparency through systemized process improvements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Compliance, and other relevant functions to ensure seamless trade lifecycle management and full adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide trading coverage during team absences, demonstrating strong ownership and team spirit.
What we value
- Proven track record in trading onshore TWD market with consistent profitability and risk management discipline.
- In-depth experience in the onshore TWD market, including familiarity with market conventions and local counterparties.
- Strong understanding of Taiwan's FX regulatory landscape, including regulators’ rules and operational constraints.
- Experience managing large TWD transaction flows, including pricing, hedging, and execution under high-pressure situations.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
- Strong team player with the ability to work within a global structure.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of challenging the status quo.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor or above degree with major in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field
- with 5 years+ related banking experience
- Detail-oriented, ability to work under high pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical and structured thinking
- Strong MS excel skills
- Licensed in Taiwan for trading-related activities
