The Quality Technician, reporting to the Quality Manager, provides support and assistance to the Advanced Materials manufacturing operation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of chemical and physical tests on products, intermediates, and raw materials.  Log all results.  Document all non-conforming results.
  • Perform all required calibrations and control methods for the laboratory.
  • Participate in all Safety trainings, programs, and initiatives.  Champion Safety amongst the plant personnel and always be a role model for Safety.
  • Follow written work instructions and procedures which detail how to perform the test procedures and calibrations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all required calibrations and controls are performed.  When issues arise, work with Quality Engineer and Quality Manager to resolve issues.
  • Assist Quality Manager with completing customer reports, certificates of analysis, audit reports and management of change documentation.
  • Perform weekly Safety inspections as assigned.
  • Run additional tests, as directed by the Quality Manager, to help resolve customer complaints.
  • Participate in new instrumentation validation, collecting necessary data for studies.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve lab operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
  • Clearly communicate laboratory issues with Quality Management.
  • Multitask and adjust to changing priorities as directed by Quality Manager or Supply Chain to ensure OTIF plant goals are met.
  • Support Manufacturing Operations as directed by Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma, some college chemistry preferred.
  • Preferred 2 years of Quality testing and analysis.
  • Knowledge of elementary principles, practices and techniques of chemical, physical and electrical testing is desirable.
  • Some experience in statistics (SPC, DOE, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to use a calculator and/or Excel spreadsheet to determine test results.
  • Knowledge of Minitab and NWA a plus.

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand/sit for extended periods of time, and be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as respirator, gloves, safety glasses and lab coats.

  • This position shall maintain compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations at all times.  The employee in this position shall maintain compliance with all Vibrantz Technologies Safety Standards as well as EHS rules/requirements of the site at all times.
