Position Summary:

A Baler Operator at FCC environmental services is responsible for operating and maintaining baler equipment used in the processing and recycling of materials. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the baler, monitoring the quality of the processed materials, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Baler Operation:

• Operate baler machinery to compress and package Materials for recycling.
• Monitor equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process.
• Adjust machine settings to optimize the baling process and meet production targets.

Quality Control:

• Inspect processed materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and remove any contaminants or non-recyclable materials.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety checks on the baler equipment and report any safety concerns or issues.

Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance on the baler machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to address more complex repairs and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Communications:

• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff to coordinate workflow and address any issues promptly.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on safety procedures and equipment operation.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or GED

Experience and Competencies:

• Competence in conducting machine adjustments to optimize performance.
• Understanding of how to interpret machine readings, control panels, and error indicators.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure machine settings are correct and products meet quality standards. Ability to diagnose and resolve operational or mechanical issues efficiently
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
