Senior Business Intelligence Analyst Opportunity

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a grant-funded opening for the position of Senior Business Intelligence Analyst – P08384 with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). What You’ll Do
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst works within the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and will report to the Director of Research and Data Integrity. This position will provide data analysis and data visualization support utilizing software including but not limited to Tableau, SPSS, Stata, SQL, and Excel.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

Responsible for development of monthly JJIS data extracts and modification of extracts upon request and/or in response to new JJIS functionality. Create and maintain an extensive collection of internal and public-facing Tableau dashboards. Conduct complex analyses in SPSS in response to ad-hoc questions posed by agency leadership. Create new Tableau data sources.
Utilizing SPSS, STATA and other statistical analysis software to assist the Office of Research & Data Integrity in answering inquiries for descriptive statistics generated by the field of Juvenile Justice regarding policies, statistics, and data.
Using classical and modern test theory and its practice to assist in the construction or modification of new or existing assessment and evaluation tools to be administered by the Office of Research & Data Integrity. This includes designing and conducting validation studies of risk-needs assessments as well as applying findings of validation studies to improve upon existing assessments.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This position permits telework. DJJ security-compliant laptop to be provided by the agency.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Three (3) years of visual analytics and data analysis experience using Florida Department of Juvenile Justice data.
Relevant experience beyond three years may substitute on a year-to-year basis for a bachelor’s degree.
