Cloud Infrastructure Engineer(Oracle DBA) - Night Shift

About Role: 24x7 Management (monitor, maintain, and control) of database systemsin the PTC CloudServices environments, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The applicationsare revenue generating, externally facing databases under stringent SLAs. The position will workclosely with R&D, Support and the Network Operations Center (NOC). In addition to operationalDBA tasks, the position will work closely with Developersto design and build/modify appropriatestructuresto support future enhancements and provide guidance on efficientdatabase accessmethods.Day-To-Day: •Assist in the maintenance and operations of multiple database environments•Assists with regular maintenance of the databases including backups, restores,archiving, and review of logsfor errors or potential problems•Regularly review space capacity and perform tasksto manage space usage•Collaborate with other operational DBAs, developers, and infrastructure teams•Work closely with development teams on activities such asschema definition, PL/SQL,stored procedures and triggers•Installation, configuration, upgrading and patching of database systems•Assist in the development and implementation of archiving, backup and recoverystrategies•Ability to complete tasks and produce appropriate deliverables within projecttimeschedules•Work with senior members of the team for database monitoring, troubleshooting•Proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control and SQL*Plus andMicrosoft SQL Server Administration tools.•Designs, implements, and periodically teststhe database backup and recoveryprocedures•Participate in the on-call schedulePreferred Skills and Knowledge: • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in computer science or related field•2-4 years as a Database Administrator•Extensive experience with Oracle including ASM/GRID/RAC (11gR2,12c) managingmultiple RDBMS in a high availability, 24x7 RAC environment•Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL in production environments highlydesirable•Mid-level skills with Linux (Red Hat & derivatives) and Windows Server 2008 and later•Good understanding of networking and storage (iSCSI & Fibre Channel) principalsBasic Qualifications: • Bachelor, Master or equivalent graduate.
