RAC Karri Valley Resort is located in the beautiful Southwest region of WA, approximately 3.5 hours' drive from Perth and just a short drive from Pemberton town centre.

Reporting to the Resort Manager, we are currently seeking a full-time Head Chef to lead kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences

This role would be ideal for a local or someone looking to relocate from Perth as accommodation is provided as part of the job-package allowing the right candidate to live and work on-site.

What will you be doing?

As Head Chef at RAC Karri Valley Resort, you will take the lead in delivering an outstanding culinary experience at our beautiful Lakeside Restaurant. This hands-on role calls for a passionate leader to inspire and manage the kitchen team, oversee daily operations, and uphold our high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety.

In this role you will:

  • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, presentation, and maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety

  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to deliver exceptional food outlets, design seasonal menus, and align on strategic plans and service delivery

  • Manage financial performance by forecasting revenue, controlling food and wage costs, and preparing reports on kitchen and outlet performance

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to meet operational and seasonal requirements

  • Oversee team management including recruitment, training, performance development, rostering, and ensuring communication flows across teams

  • Support equipment maintenance, purchasing, and ensure compliance with company policies, OH&S standards, and employment legislation

  • Liaise with the Resort Manager on daily operations, upcoming events, and assist with after-hours staffing and phone duties as required

What are we looking for in you?

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen

  • Considerable experience in supervision of a team

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting on kitchen operations

  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment

  • A thorough understanding of Food Safety principles and Workplace Health & Safety

  • Enjoy a 5-day working week on a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks (e.g., walking, lifting, bending)

  • Hold a Food Safety Certificate & National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
