About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager (would also consider a strong Manager) with strong GST experience to join our Indirect Tax team in Melbourne. You will be given the chance to work with a multi-disciplinary team of tax professionals that have exceptional technical and industry knowledge.  It is an opportunity for someone who wants to progress their career in GST, an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to continue to progress - building their practice and developing a wide range of skills while working with clients

Candidates who also have experience in state taxes will have the option to continue building that area of specialisation

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide advice & consultancy services across a range of GST matters

• Act as a primary point of contact for key clients  - maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients and being able to identify opportunities to add value

• Managing client deliverables,

• Working collaboratively with the tax team and providing thought leadership and identifying client needs across the BDO business

• Developing new client relationships and identifying opportunities to acquire new work

• Assist with training and development of the indirect tax team

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in GST

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Law

• Demonstrated experience working in a Professional Services, Legal firm or the ATO

• Excellent client advisory and communication skills

• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a team

• Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
