Team Overview
The Asia Fixed Income Middle Office team is responsible for providing critical trade support and lifecycle management for Fixed Income trading desks across the region. We work closely with traders, sales, operations, and technology teams to ensure smooth execution and settlement across multiple markets/depositories.
Position Summary
We are looking to hire an Assistant Vice President to join our Fixed Income Middle Office team based in Hong Kong, replacing a departing team member. This is a hands-on BAU role and not a managerial position. The successful candidate will be expected to operate independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with deep product and system knowledge to provide end-to-end trade support for our Asia Credit Developed/Emerging Markets Trading Desks and Fixed Income Cross-Product sales desks. The role involves regular interaction with global counterparts, as well as strong collaboration with Singapore and Tokyo based team members to ensure consistent regional coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end trade support for Fixed Income products, including: Corporate and Sovereign Bonds / Foreign Exchange (FX) / Credit Default Swaps (CDS) / Total Return Swaps (TRS)
- Ensure timely and accurate trade capture, booking, and lifecycle updates in front-to-back systems
- Monitor and resolve trade exceptions, breaks, and settlement issues across internal systems and external platforms
- Collaborate with trading, sales, operations, and compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and mitigate operational risk
- Support market expansion initiatives including: Northbound Bond Connect / China QFI Fixed Income trading / LATAM bond / Portfolio trading during Asia hours
- Manage counterparty onboarding documentation and standard settlement instruction (SSI) maintenance
- Participate in regulatory reporting, reconciliations, control checks, and project-related system UAT where required

- Murex (trade booking and risk platform)
- DTCC CTM (Central Trade Manager – for trade matching)
- ALERT (SSI reference database)
- Fidessa CTAC (Fidessa Client Trade, Allocation and Confirmation system)
Qualifications & Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in a Fixed Income Middle Office, Trade Support, or Operations role
- In-depth understanding of fixed income and derivative products across bonds, FX, CDS, TRS and repo markets
- Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle, settlement processes, post-trade processing and operational risk controls
- Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and data visualization is a strong advantage
- Highly detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to prioritize effectively under pressure
- Experience with key platform/systems listed above
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is advantageous due to regional coverage
- A proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
