What’s the job?

As the National Event Manager, you will report to Courtney Lund - Director of Campus Operations Customer Experience and join a passionate team committed to ensuring Torrens University Australia delivers an exceptional student learning experience.

The National Events Manager leads the development, planning, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of national and local events across Torrens University Australia.

This includes major milestones such as graduation ceremonies, industry engagement events, student-facing events (e.g. Open Day), and other strategic activations that support the student lifecycle and university brand experience.

This role has ownership of end-to-end event operations, working in close collaboration with Campus Operations, Marketing, Industry, and Academic stakeholders. It is responsible for maintaining national consistency and excellence in event execution, vendor relationships, budget oversight, and logistics coordination across all university locations.

Who you are:

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (essential) 

  • Relevant certifications in project management, event safety/compliance, or hospitality operations (highly regarded) 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a national or multi-site events management role, with responsibility for full event lifecycle (essential) 

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale public ceremonies, ideally within a regulated environment (e.g. higher education, government, or health) 

  • Proven experience in end-to-end project management for events including stakeholder consultation, budget ownership, scheduling, risk mitigation, vendor management, and team coordination 

  • Experience managing cross-functional collaboration across marketing, student services, and academic stakeholders 

  • Strong background in managing multiple concurrent events with competing timelines and operational demands
