Job Description
Are you an experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Nurse Consultant? Do you have a passion for leading projects that enhance patient safety, and influence organisational improvements?
In this part-time fixed-term role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of projects. You will be part of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team and report to Group Manger, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC).
You will make an impact by:
- Leading and coordinating IPAC-related projects from planning through to implementation
- Collaborating with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the organisation, and external stakeholders e.g. vendors
- Developing resources, training, and change management strategies
- Ensuring that patient perspectives are incorporated into the project design and implementation
To be successful in this role…
You bring extensive experience in Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) in a hospital setting, with postgraduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or Public Health. You have extensive experience in project management/project coordination, leading change across hospitals and/or health services. You have implemented initiatives to enhance patient safety and know how to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Your ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, positions you as a credible voice in influencing systemic improvements.

Qualifications
You will have:
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Division 1) via AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or Public Health
- A minimum of 3 years of post-graduation clinical experience as a clinical consultant in the specialty of Infection Prevention and Control
- Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality initiatives and projects (desirable)
- Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Services and/or experience working in Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) (desirable)
