Job Description:

In this position as a Senior Federal Financial Manager, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of budget execution, financial planning, and audit readiness in support of national defense priorities. You will maintain detailed financial documentation and ensure accurate distribution and reconciliation of funds using DoD financial systems. This includes working with the Program and Budget Allocation System (PBAS), Enterprise Fund Distribution (EFD), and the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), while processing Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) and travel funding. You will also manage internal control assessments, lead audit response efforts, and support strategic reporting such as Balanced Scorecards and the Performance and Accountability Report. In this position, you will also:

  • Oversee fund allocation, execution tracking, and appropriation alignment via PBAS and EFD
  • Reconcile PBAS/EFD with JICAP to identify and correct financial discrepancies
  • Process MIPRs, Interagency Orders, and travel funding through DAI in accordance with GAAP
  • Conduct unliquidated obligation reviews and asset validation with contractors and service providers
  • Support audit readiness activities, internal control assessments, and financial improvement initiatives
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, adjusting journal entries, and audit documentation
  • Develop spend plans, funding instructions, and strategic reporting to support leadership objectives

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience using DoD financial systems and applying GAAP, FMFIA, OMB A-123, and audit standards.
  • 5+ years of experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and leading audit remediation.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, documentation, communication, and using Excel and reporting tools.

Desired Skills:

  • CDFM Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs).
  • Familiarity with the CBDP mission and defense acquisition lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of the President's Management Agenda and DoD Strategic Financial Plans.
  • Experience coordinating with program elements to track property and equipment data.
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks.

Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
