Key Functions and Expected Performance:

Events Management:

  • Supports VCL events including the center and campus-wide events.
    • Professional development events
    • Student-centered programming
    • Tutoring hours
    • Faculty working groups
    • International Education Week
    • Conferences
    • Global Engagement Fellows
    • VCL Artist in Residence
    • Language Tables
    • Distinguished Guest Speakers
  • Reservation of VCL facilities and logistical support for all events held at the VCL and VCL Satellite in Rothschild College.
  • Participates in the design of outreach initiatives.
  • Data collection for all VCL related activities for reporting purposes.

 

Administrative:

  • Reservation and organization of the center’s facilities and equipment.
  • Assist with Director project timelines.
  • Serves as liaison between VCL Director and stakeholders for operations of the VCL Satellite.
  • Coordinates email communications with A&S faculty regarding VCL programming, as directed.
  • Establishes language tutoring schedules.
  • Manage all VCL student workers.

 

Technical:

  • Development, administration, and updates of VCL website (calendar, events, etc.).
  • Responsible for social media account management.

Program Support:

  • Provides support for VCL Programmatic Initiatives, including:
    • Global Engagement Fellows
    • VCL Scholars
    • VCL Artist-in-Residence
    • Language Tutoring
    • VCL Satellite Operations

Other assignments, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in a second language is preferred.
  • Strong organizational & analytical skills is necessary.
  • Resourceful and detail-oriented is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal written & oral communications skills is necessary.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects is necessary.
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team & independently is necessary.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (including Word and Excel) is necessary.
  • Experience interacting with multilingual clients (or colleagues or environments) is preferred.
  • Adobe Professional is preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design.
