Position Summary:
Perform diverse supervisory duties and work order control-related activities. Manage, coordinate, and monitor the maintenance, repair, and administrative activities of: Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, general maintenance trades, and Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Security, Safety, Hazardous Material and Waste activities, Emergency Preparedness, and Life Safety.
Collaborate with the Plant Operations Management team and other departments to inform them of necessary steps to complete capital and operational projects. Serve as a resource to the Plant Operations department for the EOC. Chairs the Safety Committee. Collaborate with outside utilities on premises: sewer and storm drain, gas, and water.
Performs additional duties as requested by Plant Operations management Team or Senior Management.
Oversees the daily operation of the maintenance staff. Prioritizes the workload based on operational needs and urgency to maintain safe operations. Maintains and updates the preventative maintenance program to maintain safe efficient operations. Ensures that the staff is trained and has the necessary tools and supplies required to keep the facility functioning properly. Updates the Assistant Director on ongoing maintenance issues and potential failures.
EDUCATION:
Minimum: High School or equivalent
Preferred: A.A. in building technology and/or technical training with completion of apprenticeship in one or more of the maintenance trades
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years of experience in management of the Physical Environment or as a licensed and/or practicing journey level tradesperson with supervisory responsibilities.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Trades License or Journey Level Trades Certificate
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
General mechanical ability desired.
