JOB TITLE:
Branding Iron Sports Writer
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide news, feature or game wrap up stories to newspaper for publication in print and/or online editions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce at least four stories per week.
- Pick up assignments from editor.
- Meet with editor regularly.
- Create story ideas for consideration of sports editor.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Student
- Access to personal transportation
- Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
- Must be available to start work Aug. 18, 2025
- Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.
- Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of AP and BI stylebooks
- Knowledge of basic journalistic style and how to write newspaper articles.
- Knowledge of sports and sports media coverage.
