Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Maintenance Technician full time to join our team!
This is a full-time position, working 5 consecutive days, which may include working Wednesday through Sunday. Shifts will be discussed with qualified candidates.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, performs duties relative to the mechanical, physical, and grounds upkeep for the hospital and 3 satellite locations. Works in a proactive manner to ensure upkeep of all parts of the facility.
This position requires knowledge in electrical, plumbing, general construction, HVAC, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
- Assist in physical plant upkeep (changing air filters, changing light bulbs, flushing drains, descaling ice machines, checking and cleaning roof drains, sanding, painting) and any other related maintenance duties.
- Maintain grounds work (watering, planting, mowing, hedge control, sweeping curb, trash and debris pick up, raking leaves) and any other related maintenance duties.
- Maintenance of various pieces of equipment throughout the building facilities. (Greasing bearings, tightening of screws, maintenance of relative monitors.)
- Report on materials and repair parts needed for specific projects for ordering for the maintenance supervisor.
- Assist in monitoring any work performed by outside contractors.
- Responsible for alerting the Director of Facilities of any unusual occurrence and or damage that is found or takes place.
- May be required to be on-call, work nights, or weekends depending on shift and call coverage.
Requirements
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: This position requires experience in electrical, plumbing, general construction, HVAC, and more. Must be able to work safely and independently to resolve issues.
Knowledge: Minimum of five years experience in maintenance or handyman work. Must be a self-starter, take initiative, and provide quality results for employees and patients. Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
OSHA Categories: Category II - Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
