Our client, Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, are in search for a dynamic, mission-driven healthcare executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. The ideal candidate brings extensive leadership experience in physician-owned, multi-entity medical group settings, particularly those delivering orthopedic and specialty care through a comprehensive service model. This individual will have a strong track record of aligning strategy, operations, finance, and culture in support of OAL’s long-standing independence and continued growth.
The incoming CEO will be a trusted partner to the physician shareholders and Executive Committee, supporting a dyad leadership model that emphasizes shared accountability, transparency, and mutual respect. This leader will guide both the long-term strategic vision and day-to-day operations of the practice, its physician-owned surgery centers, and its real estate portfolio. They will be responsible for optimizing performance across clinical, financial, and support services while ensuring operational excellence and maintaining OAL’s reputation as the region’s premier orthopedic provider.
Success in this role will require a unique combination of business acumen, emotional intelligence, and community orientation. The CEO must be comfortable navigating complexity, managing through influence, and serving as a bridge between physician ownership and administrative execution. Ideal Candidate Attributes
Experience & Education
- 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, preferably within a physician-owned specialty practice or multi-entity organization. A strong accounting background is preferred.
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Accounting or related field (MBA or MHA preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in revenue cycle oversight, payer negotiations, value-based care models, and financial stewardship.
- Proven success leading and scaling organizations that include ambulatory surgery centers, therapy services, and ancillary service lines.
Leadership & Operational Expertise
- Strategic thinker with a track record of aligning complex operations with organizational goals.
- Skilled in managing governance relationships, including reporting to a Board of Directors or Physician Executive Committee.
- Experienced in developing or supporting employer-based care contracting and niche service line development.
- Adept at physician recruitment, retention, and culture building in a dyad or collaborative leadership model.
- Competent in capital project management, facility development, and oversight of real estate assets.
- Proficiency in performance analytics, budgeting, and financial planning, including partnership with lenders and legal counsel.

Compensation inclusive of a competitive market-based salary plus bonus incentive through meeting defined KPIs. Medical, dental, and vision benefits. Yearly HSA gross-up/medical expense stipend.
