We are currently seeking a Project Manager – Civil Engineering to work on Federal projects in our Jacksonville, FL office.
What You’ll Do:
The primary focus of this role is to manage federal civil engineering and planning projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products and successful execution of production operations. This position provides consultation to clients and applies expertise to guide project teams in research, preparation, and delivery of plans, designs, documents, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and produce designs for projects including site planning, horizontal layout, grading, stormwater management facilities, potable/reuse water systems, gravity sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, erosion control, and maintenance of traffic.
- Prepare technical documents such as due diligence packages, calculation books, traffic reports, customer concept documents, and charrette reports.
- Conduct field reviews, certifications, and post-design services.
- Identify, develop, and implement technical tools, techniques, software, and processes to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Provide expertise and recommendations based on industry knowledge.
- Perform technical and quality reviews of plans and specifications.
- Support planning staff as needed.
- Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, agencies, and consultants.
- Prepare and review fee and scope documents for clients.
- Transport materials including samples, supplies, and survey equipment as required.
- Develop proficiency in Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for Federal projects.
- Adapt to varying state and local criteria for design.
- Travel locally and out-of-state up to 15%.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, related field or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in the State of Florida.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, land development or project management.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all permitting within area of expertise including local, state and federal agencies.
- Possesses a general understanding of entitlement processes.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to client, consultant, job site, agency and work locations, as needed.
