THE DEPARTMENT
The following teams make up the Technology department: Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, Applications Development, Applications Support, and Engineering. The group identifies and develops technological strategies that support GVI’s business goals and objectives to ensure internal and external partners are provided with stable systems. These include: all desktop, network, phone and email systems, applications (reservations and operations systems), websites, and Internet access.
THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation QA Specialist to join our development team. This role will be instrumental in driving quality across our digital platforms by designing and implementing robust automated testing strategies. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure our solutions are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases for web and API applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into test strategies.
- Lead the QA effort in Agile sprints, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using standard tools.
- Perform regression, performance, and integration testing as needed.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in test automation.
- Continuously improve test coverage, speed, and reliability of the QA process.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated tests are integrated and executed regularly.
EDUCATION
The preferred candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:
- 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automation.
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#, Java).
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and QA best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
- Exposure to low-code or hybrid development environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- ISTQB or similar QA certification is a plus.
