Job Summary:
The Lead Imaging Tech must perform two (2) modalities. They must meet Radiology Tech I, II and III criteria. Performs radiologic diagnostic procedures at a technical level sufficient to provide adequate diagnosis with limited supervision and in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures on patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Establishes and maintains quality control procedures for the imaging department. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Essential Functions:
- Leads Radiology Technologist I, II, & III. Assists in coordinating the operations of the department.
- Sets workflow plans and adheres to priorities outlined by leadership.
- Supervises and maintains working knowledge of daily assignments/tasks for other employees and equipment, supplies, and machines needed.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment for imaging rooms.
- Participates in updating and maintaining procedure manuals pertaining to assigned areas and acts as a resource for staff regarding policies and procedures, obtaining final approval in accordance with policy.
- Performs administrative duties for coordination and operations of the diagnostic imaging department and participates in and assists in the development of clinical and research protocols.
- Reports problems concerning staffing requirements, work methods, staff morale, etc. Coordinates with personnel of other departments regarding patient and/or staff related problems.
- Prepares the Department schedule, accepts sick calls as needed and modifies the schedule accordingly.
- Serves as a resource for employees regarding all pertinent software applications.
- Correlates clinical information and diagnostic findings to assist the Radiologist in interpreting scans/images.
- Participates in the overall operation of the Imaging department – scheduling, filing of reports/patient records, answering phones, etc.
- Reviews images for proper positioning, technique, and patient identification to be sent to the Radiologist as a completed examination.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment after each procedure is performed.
- Adjusts and manipulates imaging equipment to produce images that meet departmental standards.
- Demonstrates the ability to correctly image and identify anatomical structures as it relates to diagnostic imaging and uses proper patient positioning. Correctly marks images with appropriate notations and initials.
- Demonstrates proper use of patient shielding devices and uses ALARA consistently while performing job tasks.
- Uses clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, patients, all customers internal and external.
- Uses AIDET in interactions with patients and family members.
- Acts with a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
- Basic unit/department maintenance such as keeping files, drawers, cabinets free from unnecessary clutter.
- Reports on any equipment and or environmental issues for repair.
- Abides by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
- Speaks up to stop the line and escalates potential safety events if necessary.
- Completes and attends monthly training assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:
- At least five (5) years of minimum related experience and/or training as a registered/certified radiological technologist in X-Ray, CT, or MRI.
- Prior leadership experience in a healthcare setting a plus.
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
- A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within healthcare.
