The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) is responsible for full end-to-end accountability of complex product development programs, from concept through final installation in modular data center environments. This role leads cross-functional coordination across Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Construction Engineering, and Construction partners to ensure project delivery meets all technical, cost, quality, and schedule requirements. The EPM serves as the central point of leadership, communication, and decision-making for assigned projects.
The EPM is the primary technical owner of the project during its design, manufacturing, and installation phases. This role is accountable for any technical topic related to the program and is expected to co-own the successful installation of equipment at the construction site in close coordination with the Construction Engineering team.
The Senior EPM typically leads large-scale or high-complexity programs, and brings extensive cross-functional experience to manage high-risk, high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional execution of engineering programs from early scoping through deployment.
- Own the integrated project plan, including technical deliverables, milestones, risks, and resourcing.
- Ensure alignment across all internal partners (Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations) and external stakeholders (suppliers, certifying bodies).
- Drive daily coordination of design reviews, release milestones, and ECN execution.
- Facilitate cost estimation, manufacturability reviews, supplier engagement, and technical feasibility validations.
- Serve as escalation point for technical blockers and schedule deviations.
- Ensure that CAD models, BOMs, drawings, and documentation are progressing per PEMS governance.
- Monitor program KPIs including ECN cycle time, first-pass yield, BOM maturity, and release-to-installation timing.
- Lead program reviews with leadership and provide structured reporting on scope, risks, and critical path.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (required); Master’s or PMP is a plus.
- 15+ years of combined experience in project management, manufacturing, engineering, tooling design, and/or construction.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex product development or manufacturing integration programs.
- Strong understanding of CAD/PDM systems, ECN processes, and BOM architecture.
- Skilled in cross-functional communication and conflict resolution.
