The Product Manager (PM) has complete overview of the development and management of engineered products throughout their lifecycle, from conception through commissioning. This role requires a strong technical background combined with excellent project management skills and the ability to align engineering solutions with market needs and business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product development strategies.
- Develop and communicate a clear product plan and timeline, aligning with overall business goals.
- Responsible for complete contract oversite and content dissemination of technical and commercial data.
- Work closely with customer, engineering, manufacturing, quality teams and site coordination to ensure product requirements, customer requirements and site requirements are clearly defined and met.
- Track project scope, financial rollup, schedule, deliverables and site deliverables.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support to gather feedback to ensure successful product definitions, milestones and lines of communications have been established.
- Holds meetings with Engineering Project Manager (EPM) throughout project evolution to obtain periodic updates.
- Monitors product development scope from initial concept through production and post-launch evaluation.
- Establish project milestones, track progress, review budgets, RFI/CO closure, and address any issues that arise that may affect project KPIs.
- Utilize engineering knowledge to provide technical guidance and support throughout the product development process.
- Ensure product and site requirements adhere to industry standards, local codes and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, preliminary design, prototyping, testing, production, quality assurance and post-launch support.
- Communicate technical or operational challenges that arise during the product’s lifecycle to all stakeholders through the review schedule process.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in (mechanical civil or structural engineering) or equivalent construction management experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in program management and/or project engineering roles within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of development methodologies, product design cycle, manufacturing processes, and construction management.
- Strong client interfacing and communications
- Excellent program management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management and product lifecycle management tools.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with CRM/ERP/PLM/PDM/Financial software.
- PMP cert required.
