Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to join the Logistics team based out of our Senoia, Georgia facility. In this role you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe handling of our bulk resin materials.
As a Material Handler, you’ll be responsible for the loading and unloading of railcars and silos, keeping the area clean, organized, and compliant with all safety, environmental, and industry standards. You’ll also support resin supply to our production plants and help maintain our stocking plan, ensuring everything flows efficiently behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards, including IMS and Quality System requirements
- Confirm bulk resin receipts and verify railcar seals for compliance
- Monitor pumps and equipment for proper function; replace or coordinate filter maintenance as needed
- Perform cleaning of silos, rail lines, and vacuum lines according to schedules and procedures
Material Handling & Inventory
- Unload resin from railcars and tanker trucks into silos efficiently to avoid demurrage charges
- Maintain accurate daily inventory of resin in railcars and silos
- Manage silo levels, pumping order, and ensure railcars are emptied and properly logged (FM39130)
- Review production schedules and drop resin to production areas as needed
- Investigate and resolve resin variances
Warehouse & Support Operations
- Maintain warehouse organization, item accuracy, and material segregation
- Conduct periodic cycle counts and assist with End-of-Month inventory
- Support other deliveries and cross-functional tasks as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling environment
- 1+ years of experience using basic computer applications (e.g., email, Excel); ability to navigate inventory systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in inventory control or resin handling
- 1+ years of experience operating forklifts (stand-up and sit-down); valid forklift certification required
- Familiarity with different types of resins used in manufacturing
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems (e.g., ORB system)
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills in a production setting
Additional Information:
- This position is for day shift, Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:00pm
- The Material Handler position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
