Job Summary:
As the Operations Manager at our Jerome, ID Distribution Center, you’ll take a hands-on leadership role—guiding a small warehouse team, collaborating closely with on-site drivers, and partnering with other departments housed within the facility. You’ll oversee daily warehouse activities, facility maintenance, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while also managing the full scope of people leadership responsibilities—from coaching and performance feedback to scheduling and team development.
This is a working manager position where you’ll set the pace by example, stepping in alongside your team to keep operations running smoothly. Success in this role requires prior experience in warehouse operations and leadership, along with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to team development. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic who takes direction well, welcomes feedback, and leads with integrity. With a consistent Monday–Friday, first-shift schedule, this role offers the balance of dependable hours and the opportunity to make a real, day-to-day impact—both locally and in connection with our national distribution network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, storage, inventory management, and outbound freight
- Ensure timely and accurate order documentation (e.g., pick lists, hazardous material manifests)
- Provide excellent service to walk-in customers by maintaining a responsive and professional warehouse environment
- Partner with Inventory Control and Regulatory teams to ensure accurate inventory and compliance with all storage and handling requirements
- Conduct and support inventory cycle counts; manage on-hold products, QC bins, and system updates as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe distribution center; enforce all warehouse safety procedures
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities, keeping management informed of key actions and updates
- Oversee regulatory compliance, including internal SOPs and third-party standards (e.g., SQF)
- Maintain the proper storage and relationships of our Third Party Logistics (3PL) partners, optimizing the available space within the Distribution Center.
- Execute and track preventative maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Lead or support facility audits by customers or third-party inspectors
- Support basic financial tasks such as accounts receivable, collections, and processing cash receipts
- Collaborate on annual planning and improvement initiatives for the Distribution Center
- Champion company policies and drive consistency across operations
- Manage employee schedules and approve time-off requests to ensure operational coverage

Qualifications & Skills:
- Required:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Prior experience in warehouse leadership roles with direct responsibility for team development, coaching, and performance management
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory workflows
- Familiarity with distribution environments and customer service expectations
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Preferred:
- Education: Post-secondary education in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, or a similar operational environment
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP software
- Knowledge of SQF compliance standards and audit processes
- Familiarity with lot-controlled inventory and product traceability
- Experience with Third Party Logistics (3PL) and relationship management
- Lean training and experience with root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proven experience managing direct reports, including conducting performance evaluations, giving constructive feedback, and fostering team development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead by example, set clear expectations, and build a positive, accountable team culture
