Job Description
We are seeking an In-House Lab Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing unique tests to verify the constructional integrity, safety and quality of a variety of children’s products. The position requires running tests to make sure products comply with specifications laid out by ASTM to prevent accidents, injuries and choking hazards. Applicants should possess vast knowledge of HJ and other intranet-based programs, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Office and Excel. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, including the ability to follow written instructions to perform safety tests as required.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Performing routine physical/mechanical lab functions per test plan to support new product development as well as qualifying existing products
- Conducting testing according to both internal and external requirements
- Setting up, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining lab equipment and fixtures
- Developing test methods and/or fixture(s) as necessary
- Maintaining a clean and safe lab working environment
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in a similar role preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Knowledge to perform tests using various tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently
- Must have good attendance and be reliable
