Position Summary:

Vaughn & BCI is seeking a dependable and motivated Cook I to join our team at Warner Robins Air Force Base. The Cook I is responsible for supporting food preparation and cooking in accordance with established recipes and sanitation standards. This role ensures that high-quality meals are served in a timely and professional manner to military personnel and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meats, vegetables, soups, and other foods

• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (ovens, grills, steamers, etc.)

• Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and labeling procedures

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils

• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to support meal service

• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries

• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards

• Support head cooks and supervisors with daily operational tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• 1+ year of experience in food service or kitchen prep preferred

• Basic knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards

• Ability to follow directions, work in a team, and manage time effectively

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Must be eligible to obtain access to Warner Robins AFB

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a high-volume kitchen on a military base. Candidates must be able to work under pressure, follow protocols, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
