The Associate assists FCA staff with necessary duties assigned by the supervisor in order to aid in the successful camp ministry or campus ministry programs and/or administrative support. An Associate is a temporary, part time hourly position, ineligible for FCA benefits and 401K contributions. Associates can be FCA staff for up to 1 year.
MINISTERIAL DUTIES
These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
As an associate, you’ll work closely with our FCA staff to grow our campus impact through discipleship, outreach, huddles, and spiritual development. You’ll become a vital part of our ministry team, actively engaging with student-athletes and campus life while being spiritually invested in and trained.
GOALS OF THIS ROLE:
- Immersion & Integration
Gain firsthand experience in the daily operations of FCA ministry and become an active part of our FCA huddles.
- Spiritual Growth & Calling Clarification
Deepen your understanding of ministry while discerning your personal calling through hands-on leadership, mentorship, and training.
- Campus & Community Impact
Help expand FCA’s reach at local area huddles by exploring and implementing new ministry initiatives and outreach opportunities.
SPECIFICATIONS & DUTIES
- Approx. between 15-20 hours/week commitment (flexible around class or work schedule)
- Participate in all aspects of campus ministry:
- Attend and help lead weekly FCA huddles and small group Bible studies
- Connect with new student-athletes and foster intentional relationships
- Engage in discipleship, both giving and receiving
- Assist with administrative and organizational tasks
- Lead and organize monthly outreach opportunities to serve the Pueblo community
- Help mobilize students to support local high school FCA huddles through speaking or attending
- Receive training through a condensed version of FCA’s E3 and Discipleship training, as well as spiritual formation content
- Be discipled by one of the FCA staff members and in turn disciple students within our local area huddles.
