Job Description 

Role Summary:

The position above entails various tasks that are designed to manage and administer the port logistics operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner. As a result, this position covers several VL functions, such as labor allocation, audits, process analysis, planning recommendation, budget development and maintaining compliance with all Quality Management System directives. Manages implementation and review of OSHA regulations and statutory compliance thus ensuring a safe workplace. Oversees system integration of all port level programs within the VL process utilizing Audi and Volkswagen corporate standardization requirements and Factory level Quality Assurance guidelines.

Role Responsibilities:

·       MDO/PIA Warehouse Management (80%)

o   Monitor stock levels to determine when parts need to be reordered. Place orders with suppliers to replenish inventory, ensuring that there are no delays in the production process

o   Monitor the quality of parts stored in the warehouse, ensuring they meet the required specifications for installation

o   Coordinate with the production team to forecast future part needs and plan accordingly

o   If defective parts are identified or there are issues with suppliers, submit complaints and claims to the relevant parties to resolve the problems and prevent future occurrences

o   Work closely with the installation and production teams to resolve any issues related to part shortages, defective items, or delays in receiving parts

o   Ensure that the warehouse adheres to safety protocols and regulations, keeping the workplace safe for all employees

o   Organize space to prevent accidents and ensuring that proper handling and storage practices are followed

o   Oversee the disposal or recycling of outdated, damaged, or obsolete parts to maintain warehouse space and ensure only functional parts are available.

o   Keep records of disposed parts and follow procedures for environmentally responsible disposal if applicable

o   Ensure compliance with port regulations, environmental standards, and company policies regarding warehouse operations, including handling hazardous materials if applicable

o   Ensure that the warehouse is properly organized to maximize storage efficiency, safety, and easy access to parts

o   Maintain accurate inventory records, including quantities of parts, locations, and their condition

o   Oversee the receipt of parts from suppliers, including verifying the accuracy of shipments (quantities, descriptions, etc.) against purchase orders

o   Inspect incoming parts for any defects, discrepancies, or damage. Report any issues to the appropriate teams for resolution

o   Ensure parts are properly labeled and stored in appropriate locations for easy retrieval and efficient handling

o   Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse status, inventory levels, part orders, and any issues related to parts (quality complaints, delays, etc.)

o   Track performance metrics, such as parts turnover, stock accuracy, and order fulfillment times, to ensure warehouse operations are efficient and aligned with production goals

o   Supervise warehouse staff, providing direction and guidance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely

o   Train new staff on warehouse procedures, part handling, safety protocols, and inventory systems

o   Other duties and projects as needed

·       Manage relevant PQO Parts activities (20%)

o   Maintain employee training matrix for all Parts Techs

o   Oversee Parts Technician(s) work allocation.

o   Create PQO Parts SOPs

o   Manage building access for permanent and temporary technicians.

o   Request Parts on Command and ETKA access for all PQO Baltimore personnel.

o   Lead inbound parts inspection process.

o   Train Parts Technician(s) on SOPs and trainings

o   Hold 1:1 meeting with PQO Parts Technician(s) to address workforce needs.

o   Plan and prepare for new model launches.

o   Perform weekly analysis to determine the need of new Specialty tools.

§  Place weekly tool orders.

o   Perform daily technician observations to ensure minimum PQO Standards are met.

o   Manage and maintain PQO Toolboxes

o   Manage and maintain Factory Toolboxes

o   Provide a back-up/support role to the parts technicians

o   Perform quality checks on Parts Technician(s) performance.

o   Evaluate operating procedures and compare with Freeport to improve efficiency.

o   Chemical usage evaluation.

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

  •  5+ Years of Leadership & Operations Experience

Education – Required:

  • High School Diploma

Education - Desired:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Service Technology or Engineering

  • Must display strong leadership skills to lead a group of technicians and subject matter experts

  • Knowledge of PQOS
    • Labor management
    • Asset management
  • Fluent English
  • Proficiency in ETKA and Parts on Command
  • Must be eligible for or have TWIC

Specialized Skills - Desired:

  • Awareness of factory quality systems such as ERNA
  • Flamingo admin access
  • Fluent German
  • Six Sigma Certified
  • I-CAR Certification

Work Flexibility:

  • Flexibility during vessel/train arrivals, during actions, stop orders and/or market introductions, which could require overtime, weekend and holidays work
  • Travel to other ports for follow up or coordination of stop orders and/or market introductions, as per need
