The position serves as a key role in designing and executing financial solutions transactions that address the capital needs of insurance companies, both long term (inforce transactions) and short/intermediate term (remote risk). This person will focus on deal structuring, negotiations, internal approvals, deal execution, and new solution development, as well as supporting transaction origination. The position requires the individual to be innovative and experienced with a high level of financial, actuarial and reinsurance skills. Prior financial modeling experience is preferred, to review and problem-solve the contributions of other team members.
Deal Execution:
- Transaction origination (RFP receipt or bilateral discussion).
- Assess opportunity and forming solution – deal structure, overseeing transaction analysis, initial pricing.
- Obtain internal approvals.
- Lead due diligence, support treaty drafting and lead/support negotiation.
Product Development:
- Identifying client needs via marketing actuaries and other industry sources.
- Learn and keep abreast of regulatory changes.
- Gain necessary product knowledge to develop viable solutions, which may include working with internal SME, consultants, and modelling/accounting research.
Origination Support:
- Collaborate to help US traditional market team to source and market client solutions.
- Attend and participate in industry and client events.
- Identify, design and present client-specific FinSol solutions
Desired Experience & Competencies
- 10+ yrs experience in (re)/insurance, ideally with exposure to product development.
- Knowledge of US statutory accounting, IFRS a plus.
- Ability to lead large, complex projects and transactions.
- Attention to detail, while maintaining the “big picture”.
- Presentation and client facing skills.
- Transactional experience a plus.
- Financial reinsurance experience a plus.
- Document review experience a plus.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Desired: FSA designation

Pay Range: $210,000 - $245,000 base salary per year. Pay Range for roles performed in New York: $245,000 - $280,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
